What it costs to get an MOT arranged from Egham
The DVSA sets a legal maximum MOT fee of £54.85 for a standard private car no garage or test centre in the UK, including ones covering Egham, can charge more than this. When we arrange your MOT alongside a service, the combined price is typically lower than booking an MOT and a separate service visit elsewhere, and doing both together means faults are more likely to be caught and fixed before the test rather than after a failure.

What's new for MOTs in 2026
From April 2026, every MOT must include an uploaded photograph of the vehicle at the time of testing, and tyre inspections now require digital depth gauges measured at multiple points across the tyre width for a more accurate read on tread wear. These changes don't affect what we arrange or how much it costs, but the inspection itself is slightly more thorough than it used to be. Full details: New MOT rules 2026 what's changed?

What happens if the car fails?
If your car fails, you'll get a VT30 refusal certificate listing every reason for the fail. Because we arrange the whole process including any repairs, if the work is done through us within 10 working days you're normally entitled to a partial retest only the failed items get rechecked, not the whole car, usually at a reduced cost.
If your current MOT certificate is still valid, you can still drive the car to us for repairs. If it's already expired, you can only drive to a pre-booked repair or test appointment.
